Google put Gemini 4 Argon in the Gemini app on 2026-10-13 for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. Google says it answers more directly, hedges and repeats itself less, and reports its progress more often on long jobs. A new switch in the chat window turns a chat into a task that keeps running while you are away. The Mac app also gets Google's Antigravity coding screen.
Free users do not get Argon. If you pay for AI Pro at $19.99 a month, the upgrade is already in your app.
